As an intern, you'll gain hands-on experience alongside industry leaders in basketball operations, event management, marketing, and facility operations—all while contributing to a nationally recognized brand with a global footprint. It’s a dynamic opportunity to learn, grow, and make an impact in a fast-paced, purpose-driven sports organization.


All positions can be year round or per semester and a stipend to ensure local travel can be accommodated. If you are travelling from further away room & board may be offered to candidates as well. Please see opportunities below and apply accordingly.

1. Sport Sales Intern

Terms

September – December 2025, 24-35 hrs/week

January – April 2026 24-35 hrs/week

May-August 2026, 35 hrs/week

Role Snapshot

Drive ticketing, sponsorship, and merchandise revenue while learning the fundamentals of sports sales inside a high‑performance environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead‑Gen & Outreach: Compile target lists, craft outreach emails, and schedule calls for facility rentals, camps, and corporate partnerships.

· CRM Updates: Enter, track, and analyze prospect interactions in our CRM; prepare weekly pipeline reports.

· Game‑Day Activation: Staff sales tables at Orangeville Prep games and AIFC matches; upsell add‑ons and group experiences.

· Merchandising Support: Assist with inventory counts and online store fulfilment.

· Market Research: Benchmark pricing, fan engagement trends, and competitor offerings; present actionable insights.

Ideal Profile

· Working toward a degree/diploma in Sport Management, Business, or a related field.

· Comfortable cold‑calling and engaging diverse stakeholders.

· Strong Excel/Sheets skills; familiarity with HubSpot/Zoho or similar CRM is a plus.

· Energetic, coachable, and resilient—grit over prior experience.

2. Basketball Operations Intern

Term

September – December 2025, (Prep Season) 35 hrs/week

January – April 2026, (Prep Season) 35 hrs/week

May – August 2026, 35 hrs/week

Role Snapshot

Support Orangeville Prep’s administrative staff technical staff with logistics, analytics, and player experience initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

· Communication: Coordinate regular communication with parents, athletes and coaches

· Game Operations: Help with game day set-up, sales and social media

· Team Travel: Coordinate hotel blocks, bus bookings, per diem sheets, and itineraries.

· Compliance Checklists: Track academic eligibility, waivers, and athlete paperwork.

· Player Services: Assist with residence tours, uniform distribution, and day‑to‑day athlete inquiries (Recruitment).

Ideal Profile

· Studying Sport Management or similar.

· Proficient with Excel/Google Sheets; experience with CRMs & Teamworks an asset.

· Detail‑oriented multitasker who thrives courtside and in spreadsheets alike.

· Able to lift 40 lbs and work evenings/weekends as required.

3. Soccer Operations Intern

4. Social Media Marketing Intern

Role Snapshot

Grow Athlete Institute’s digital footprint across TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube by producing compelling, brand‑consistent content.

Key Responsibilities

· Content Creation: Film, edit, and publish short‑form video, graphics, and photo stories highlighting basketball & soccer players, events, and facility life.

· Platform Management: Draft copy, schedule posts via Zoho engage with followers in real time.

· Analytics & Reporting: Track KPIs (reach, engagement, CTR), deliver weekly dashboards, and recommend optimizations.

· Campaign Support: Collaborate with Sales to activate sponsor deliverables and paid ads.

· Brand Voice Guardian: Ensure every post reflects AI’s values—excellence, authenticity, and community impact.

Ideal Profile

· Studying Marketing, Communications, or Digital Media.

· Fluent in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) or Canva; basic video‑editing software competence required.

· Demonstrated social portfolio (personal or previous work).

· Creative storyteller who can operate under tight deadlines at live events.

5. Event & League Operations Intern

Term

September – December 2025 (peak event window), 35 hrs/week

January – April 2026 (peak event window), 35 hrs/week

Role Snapshot

Execute seamless tournaments, showcases, and community events, ensuring every guest leaves impressed.

Key Responsibilities

· Pre‑Event Planning: Build run‑of‑show docs, floorplans, signage lists, and volunteer schedules. Organize annual All Canadian Basketball Game.

· Vendor Liaison: Confirm AV, catering, security, and merchandise partners; track contracts and invoices.

· On‑Site Management: Oversee registration, coordinate game officials, manage back‑of‑house logistics, and troubleshoot in real time.

· Post‑Event/League Analysis: Collect feedback surveys, reconcile budgets, and draft debrief reports outlining wins and improvements.

· Facility Presentation: Work with maintenance to uphold brand standards—clean, branded, and guest‑ready environments.

Ideal Profile

· Coursework in Event Management, Hospitality, or Sport Admin.

· Strong organizational chops; able to juggle multiple timelines.

· Confident communicator who stays calm under pressure.

· Comfortable with weekend and long‑day shifts typical of live events.
