Your place in our story

 

The BAS & Energy Optimization Lead plays a critical part in advancing our building automation strategy by optimizing BAS performance, integrating AI-driven technologies, and ensuring seamless operations across mechanical systems. Through proactive monitoring, staff training, and vendor coordination, the position supports energy efficiency, cost savings, and system reliability—contributing directly to Minto’s commitment to operational excellence and sustainability.

 

Here’s how you’ll contribute 

 

  • Optimize BAS settings and sequences, conduct site audits to ensure ongoing efficiency and cost savings
  • Support and train site staff on mechanical systems and operations, troubleshoot BAS and HVAC issues, where needed coordinate repairs with the appropriate contractor and site staff
  • Monitor BAS remotely and coordinate alarm response, ensure BAS trend logs are maintained
  • Integrate AI-driven BAS for energy efficiency and performance, ensure ongoing communications between platforms and equipment, coordinate with Minto IT department on network security and reliability
  • Commission BAS controls for new HVAC systems, review project designs for BAS compatibility and provide input on BAS-related capex projects
  • Oversee BAS vendor maintenance and inspections
  • Participate in demand response and utility programs, liaise with utilities and consultants on utility incentives

 

What you bring to the team

  • Technologists’ Diploma in Electronics, Process Controls, Building Automation or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working with building automation systems and HVAC systems.
  • Able to interpret building drawings, engineering specifications, project plans or other technical documents.
  • Trouble-shooting and problem solving skills, able to diagnose mechanical problems and implement cost-effective solutions.
  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with Delta and ALC programming would be an asset.
