Chief FREC

This position is open to students currently in first year (entering second year in September 2026). If you're looking for a chance to gain leadership and experience by working closely with the Orientation Chair to plan and execute Engineering and Applied Science Orientation Week, then this could be the position for you!

The Chief FREC hires, manages and works directly with FREC Committee. Responsibilities are broad, including hiring and training FRECs, overseeing the management of the Orientation Week Budget, assisting in planning Orientation Week activities, and providing accountability for all events during Orientation Week. The Chief FREC works in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, the Engineering Society, the AMS, and other faculty Orientation Committees. The Chief FREC is the main source of communication to FRECs during the year and will be a resource to them throughout Pre-Week and Orientation Week.
