Pay Grid:             Professional, $20.90 - $29.45

Reporting to:     Elementary Vice Principal

Summary of Duties:

The Education Assistant will follow the daily schedule of the class they are assisting. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to: Morning, Recess, Lunch supervision; math and reading programs; and other classroom duties.

Key Deliverables and Expectations:

• To provide student assistance in and out of class under the direction of the School Admin team.
• Working with other professionals.
• Ensuring a reporting format is established and maintained.
• Keep a daily journal.
• Ability to follow instruction as outlined in student improvement plan.
• Perform other related duties as requested.

Experience and Attributes:

• Must have Grade 12, ECE or other related certificates, diploma an asset.
• Experience working with kids/youth an asset.
• Experience working with special needs children/youth an asset.
• Some knowledge of child development.
• Some understanding of behaviour problems would be an asset.
• B.C. Standard First Aid Certificate for working with young children (recommended but not mandatory).
• Able to foster professional relationships between teacher and parents to support students’ best interest and to work.
• Knowledge of Lil’wat culture an asset.
• Clear criminal record check - vulnerable sector.
