Job Description: Under direction, performs sanitary inspection and environmental health work involving in the enforcement of relevant sanitary, environmental, and public health laws and rules within the concerned jurisdiction; conducts inspections, investigations, and educational outreach activities; performs other related duties as required and/or necessary.
EDUCATION: An active Registered Environmental Health Specialist
License/Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor's Certificate issued by the New Jersey
Department of Health and Senior Services is required. Bachelor's degree with a
minimum of 30 credits in Natural & Health Sciences is desirable.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one (1) year of experience is also
required.
LICENSE: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license
valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee
mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
NOTE: Appointments may be made to positions requiring bilingual
skills.
SPECIAL NOTE: Applicants must be able to
read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in Spanish and English
sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
