Procurement Coordinator, Jays Care Programs

Procurement Coordinator, Jays Care Programs

The Procurement Coordinator on the Jays Care Programs team is tasked with procuring a wide range of products that are essential for Jays Care programs to succeed.  Our work enables us to work with and support communities facing a wide range of barriers including, but not limited to: poverty, food insecurity, inaccessibility, ableism, racism, sexism, and homophobia. Every project we devote time, funding and energy to has been well-researched, informed by our wide range of advisors, and is designed specifically to break down barriers and fortify strengths for children and youth. Jays Care is looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, stellar administrator who will focus their energy on procuring and managing a wide variety of supply and admin needs for the following projects:

  • Affiliate Schools Program: this includes procuring and managing the delivery of hats, t-shirts, equipment kits, coach kits, and more to close to 800 publicly funded schools across the country.
  • Community Partners Program: this includes procuring and managing the delivery of hats, t-shirts, equipment kits, coach kits and more to close to 150 community partners.
  • Challenger Baseball: this includes procuring League Coordinator kits, Provincial Coordinator kits, t-shirts, hats, equipment kits, and more to more than 100 Challenger Baseball leagues across the country.

 

In addition, the Procurement Coordinator can expect to be assigned to support administrative and procurement needs on a wide range of projects including, but not limited to:

  • Wrap-around support initiatives
  • RBI Summer Edition
  • Indigenous Rookie League

The Procurement Coordinator on the Jays Care team is expected to be highly driven, have a phenomenal work ethic and be excited to work both independently as well as in a team. In an average year, the Procurement Coordinator will likely work on 3-5 major projects applying the following skills on a regular basis:

  • Procuring a wide range of items at a cost-effective rate
  • Liaising with the Fulfillment facility to ensure all orders are effectively packed and shipped
  • Liaising with a variety of vendors to ensure effective delivery and appropriate invoicing
  • Ensuring that all documents and databases are spell-checked and reviewed for inconsistencies

 DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Social Work, Kinesiology, Equity Studies, or related field i.e. human services, health or education
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • 1+ years working in an administrative role
  • Good demonstration of problem-solving skills and ability to work in a group
  • Significant competence in PowerPoint, Excel and different online communication platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
  • Willingness to work outside of regular 9-5 schedule
  • Fluency in French is an asset
