Hiring Unit:
Athletics & Recreation

Position Summary:
As a technical specialist with the McGill Track and Field team you will have responsibilities and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the program. You will assist the Head Coach in preparation for weekly responsibilities and deliver specific tasks focused on the development of the student-athlete, the team, and/or sport specific support systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the set-up and preparation of all home Track and Field meets.

  • Aid in collecting and compiling data at the meets for feedback to the athletes.

  • Liaise with meet officials and volunteers at home meets.

  • Communicate effectively with the head coach, other assistant coaches and the athletes.

  • Effectively recruit at the university level.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • Level II NCCP certification or equivalent

  • A minimum of 2 years experience coaching in Track and Field.

  • Ability to lead the Track and Field group in the absence of the head coach.

  • Organized, punctual, team-oriented, hard worker

  • Criminal background check required

Knowledge of English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4.
