Description

The Feedlot Administration Officer primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Weighbridge
    • Weigh trucks carting commodities and cattle – record data in logs and in the systems
    • Take samples and test commodities as required - ensure it meets quality standards
    • Documentation must be reviewed, completed and correct
    • Cattle is accompanied with correspondent paperwork – NVD’s, MSA, Ausmeat, PTIC test
    • Commodities – CVD’s, contracts
  • Administration duties
    • Answer customer enquiries, transfer enquiries to the appropriate person or, if unavailable, assist the customer
    • General duties eg :- typing, emailing, filing and photocopying
    • Archive records when necessary
    • Maintain inventory records and place orders for stationery, ear tags and veterinary drugs
    • Preparing ear tags in accordance with weekly incoming cattle movements and manage inventory
    • Obtain and forward Gas reading to supplier on weekly basis
    • Co-ordinate and order mill record books, weighbridge receival and dispatch books, weighbridge tickets.
  • Systems
    • Enter all daily physical activities at the feedlot – movements, feed data, charges and weighbridge tickets into relevant database
    • FY3000 update and print necessary reports
    • Verify accuracy of all paperwork. 
    • Review reports for errors and alert the appropriate people if a problem has occurred
    • Support Bindaree livestock team entering data in the system and creating reports
    • Assist with camp accommodation and house inspections, monitor living areas, organise repairs as required
  • Reports
    • Ensure reports and data are clear, accurate and timely send to suppliers and advisors (veterinary and nutritionist)
    • Update reports e.g. KPI’s, deaths, manure, etc.
  • HR
    • Timesheets and working hours report to BFG HR and management in a timely manner
  • Safety and QA
    • Support the management team in the maintenance of the quality and safety management system
    • Monitor and conduct truck drivers, contractor and visitors safety induction
