Your mission should you accept it:

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the main responsibilities of the Foundation Coordinator are to coordinate the work related to its activity and ensuring that permits are obtained. More specifically, he acts as an expert at the construction site in foundation work, taking into account the contractual and engineering requirements surrounding the construction of foundations. 

Haute Chaudière Wind Farm is part of Quebec's energy transition, which aims to increase the province's wind power production capacity. It consists of 20 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 120 MW. This clean, renewable energy source will be integrated into Hydro-Québec's transmission and distribution network. 
The wind farm is located on private and public lands, in a forested area in the territories of the municipalities of Frontenac, Audet and the Town of Lac-Mégantic in the MRC du Granit. 

The Madawaska wind project is part of Quebec’s energy transition and aims to increase the province’s wind power production capacity by installing 45 wind turbines with a total capacity of 270 MW. It offers a clean, renewable source of energy that will be integrated into Hydro-Québec’s transmission grid.
The project is located on both private and public land, in forested and agricultural sectors within the municipalities of Dégelis and Saint-Jean-de-la-Lande in the Témiscouata RCM.

Do you have what it takes? Positive energy and... 

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or relevant college training;
    5 to 10 years of experience in similar positions;
  • Proficient with the Office suite and IT tools;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, in French and English;
  • Good knowledge of the CSA A-23.1.09-23.2.09 standard (Concrete constituting work execution);
  • High geographical mobility and availability according to the working hours of the construction site;
  • Excellent team management and conflict resolution skills;
  • Autonomy and leadership;
  • Great administrative rigour. 

What you will do to complete this mission successfully:

  • With the assistance of the Project Manager, prepare the contracts required for the execution and control of the work for subcontractors, suppliers and consultants;
  • Assist the Superintendent in the coordination of foundation activities;
  • Confirm and coordinate technical requirements for civil engineering and maintenance with field teams and civil contractors;
  • Validate the progress of the construction of the wind turbine foundations and produce a follow-up report periodically;
  • Coordinate the construction of substation foundations in collaboration with the Civil Superintendent,
  • Environmental Engineer, Substation Works Coordinator, subcontractors, municipal and regional representatives, and the developer/client representative;
  • Develop and implement the quality control program for the foundation work;
  • Follow up on the purchases, receipt and inventory of materials required for the execution of the work;
  • Ensure the application of technical procedures to the work carried out in collaboration with the project engineer;
  • Coordinate with an external laboratory and the municipalities concerned, the necessary inspection of the work and validate its compliance;
  • Actively participate in the implementation of the prevention program and support the Prevention Officer with regard to the requirements and implementation of traffic controls in collaboration with the Civil Superintendent;
  • Any other related tasks.
