Full-time, Monday to Friday

Languages:
Bilingual – 100% English, 70–80% French (comfortable handling external dealings such as CNESST)

Salary Range:
$100,000 – $115,000

About the Client:
Inner Circle Agency is recruiting on behalf of a global leader in logistics and transportation. This organization operates across multiple continents and manages a wide range of complex, cross-border legal matters. You’ll be part of a small, collaborative legal team where professionalism, focus, and calm under pressure are valued.

Role Overview:
The In-House Counsel will support the Chief Legal Officer and manage a variety of legal files across multiple jurisdictions, including Canada, the U.S., and Latin America. The role covers corporate/commercial law, contracts, compliance, employment law, and support for litigation files. You will provide leadership within the legal team, foster collaboration, and deliver strategic advice to meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee legal files and documentation for a cross-functional legal team

  • Provide legal support across corporate/commercial, contracts, compliance, HR, finance, and corporate leases

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements

  • Advise on employment law matters and internal policies

  • Provide legal guidance on transportation, liability, and insurance matters

  • Assist with litigation files as needed and offer strategic advice for cases in multiple jurisdictions

  • Issue legal opinions on liability, cargo claims, and other matters

  • Foster collaboration and efficiency within the legal department

Qualifications – Required:

  • Bachelor of Law (LL.B.)

  • Member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec

  • Minimum 2 years’ post-call legal experience in corporate/commercial or related fields

  • Bilingual – fluent in English, functional in French for external dealings

  • Professional, focused, calm, and collaborative personality

  • Strong ability to handle multiple legal matters simultaneously and prioritize effectively

Qualifications – Preferred:

  • Litigation experience (asset)

  • Knowledge of the transportation industry

  • Spanish language skills
