Being an Adjudicator for the Student Group Grant Committee (SGGC) will allow you the opportunity to support student groups in their events and financial endeavours.
About The Opportunity
The Student Group Grant Committee (SGGC) disburses the Student Group Granting Program funds and reviews the procedural documents belonging to the Program, under the direction of the University of Alberta Students' Union (UASU). The SGGC is an adjudication committee composed of students with student group executive experience, and aids the UASU, on behalf of the Students' Council Finance Committee, to provide funding to SU-recognized student groups for their operations and events.
The SGGC also serves as an advisory committee for the UASU when making changes to the Granting Program. The SGGC is currently taking applications for undergraduate students-at-large to serve on the committee for the 2025-26 academic year.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible, an applicant must:
If you are part of the Adjudication Committee AND you are part of a student club, your club is still eligible to apply for grants.
Time Commitment
3 hours of Adjudication Training (1hr virtual session supplemented by 2hrs of eClass training). 3-10 hours per grant application round (or per semester). This includes Adjudication Meetings, potential Appeals Meetings, and Special Meetings. Adjudications will occur in the 2 months following each grant application deadline (June & July, October & November, and February & March)
